Author -- Technologist -- Educator -- Founder of INNOVIM
Shahin Samadi is an author, technologist, and educator whose life and work span cultures, disciplines, and eras of transformation. Born in Iran and shaped by the upheavals of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, he experienced firsthand how history, ideology, and human resilience intersect -- lessons that continue to inform his writing and professional life.
After immigrating to the United States, Dr. Samadi earned his doctorate in Computer Science from George Washington University and went on to contribute to mission-critical programs at NASA, while holding senior technical and executive roles across industry and academia, including teaching as an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University.
In 2003, Dr. Samadi founded INNOVIM, a science and technology firm established to deliver high-impact, mission-driven solutions for U.S. federal agencies. Under his leadership, INNOVIM has supported complex national programs across Earth science, space systems, data analytics, and advanced information technologies.
Through his two-volume series, Currents of Being, Dr. Samadi explores the deeper currents that shape individual lives and collective destinies -- history and memory, technology and faith, migration and belonging. His work does not offer simple answers. Instead, it invites reflection, curiosity, and a systems-level understanding of how meaning and wisdom emerge over time.
